Sixty-five years ago, an intrepid American published Under Cover – an amazing revelation of how Foreign Agents and Enemies Within are plotting to destroy the United States [Dutton NY 1943]. ‘The Book of the Month Club News’ wrote: “John Roy Carlson has done more to expose un-American activities than the entire Congressional Dies Committee [on Un-American Activities”!]
In ‘Under Cover’, General George Moseley [amongst other military officers] runs-up over 30 index entries. On page 23, one is confronted by the following cover page Headline in [the May 1938 edition of] the ‘National American’ [organ of the American National-Socialist Party]:

“STERILIZATION urged by Army Man for all “Refugees” Entering America”
[called “Refujews” by UK Sir Oswald Moseley’s cohorts]

The whole Issue was devoted to the “sterilization speech” of US General George Moseley. The retired General was Peter Stahrenberg’s candidate to head a militant revolutionary machine. Not long after this issue appeared he stopped publishing the paper and relocated to a secret printing studio which specialized in producing seditious “anti-war stuff”. One of his best customers for this “educational” material was another retired army man Colonel E. N. Sanctuary.
In ‘Under Cover’ chapter 8 entitled “The Pied Pipers of “Patriotism”, Carlson describes how the “Man on Horseback” [General Moseley] was being groomed as the messiah for an American der tag - a Nazi putsch - by wily fascist propagandists and plotters. Carlson records how the befuddled, anti-Semitic General - thinking “he was just being patriotic” - suddenly found himself hauled before HUAAC the House Un-American Activities Committee.

There he made a pathetic spectacle of himself as he tried to portray as “truth” the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and other Nazi lies he had imbibed during his foolish association with foreign agents and the likes of Nazi acolyte Charles Lindbergh, who claimed that

“A powerful group - the most powerful of all - the refugee Germans, their
fellow racial and religious brethren stood in the way of a just peace”

“Israel (Jacob) is the cause of all the violence in the Middle-East”

One of the Negroes exclaimed’: “Somebody has got to do the job and Hitler is doin’ it”. “There’ll be a Change. And it’s coming Now,” said a second! ‘Carlos Cooks, one of the more intelligent Negro fascist leaders in Harlem, published ‘The Street Speaker’ - violently anti-British, anti-White, anti-Semitic – made no secret of his Axis leanings’: “We feel no enmity with people of of the totalitarian powers, especially Japan. Between Nazism and Democracy, I would choose Nazism. I wouldn’t lift my finger to save a Jew”! ‘One of the many Negro fascists Samuel W. Daniels [of 2286 Seventh Avenue] was the most frightening at close range. Asking him bluntly why he had summoned me, he said’: “I’ll tell you why. I want you to go to your wealthy white friends, those who feel as we do, and get their financial help so I can carry on with my work”.
‘After leaving him I wandered through the streets of Harlem listening to the voice of Nazism emanating from this tragic people, trying to trace the propaganda source, trying to trace the master propagandists who were encouraging political fascism in the minds of the Negro leaders. I wanted to know who was pulling the strings’.
‘I did not find the answer until I met Robert Jordan [the night of September 27, 1940 – ‘Battle of Britain’ time]. In a neighborhood café Jordan began telling me his personal history. A West Indian by birth, forty-one years of age, he had served as a sailor with Japan’s largest steam-ship company. A year prior to the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he had visited Nazi Germany. In that year he had organized the Ethiopian Pacific Movement. Inc., and proudly wired Hitler that the Negro people of the world were with him in Sein Kampf . On his way to Germany he had stopped in London, where he was arrested for anti-British agitation. He boasted of his personal friendship with Jawaharlal Nehru [of the All-India Congress] who had received him with open arms. Jordan was violently anti-Semitic and repeated the Nazi mouthings that the world was ruled by“International Jews”!
‘After Pearl Harbor, Attorney General Biddle cracked down. I [Carlson] was happy to see our officials finally realize that a saboteur need not necessarily have to be a prototype of the sinister figure with bombs in one hand and blueprints in the other. Nor was it necessary for him or her to be on the Nazi payroll to serve Totalitarian ends. By 1943 the conviction was permeating among our official agencies that most of the saboteurs of Democracy looked and acted like ordinary men and women, went quietly about their work of destruction. The conception that a fifth columnist could lurk in the pulpit or cocktail lounge as well as the factory, were revolutionary steps towards stifling Hitler’s agents and his American dupes functioning on the psychological battlefront’.

Robert Leonard Obidiah Jordan, the “Black Fuhrer”- along with Lester Holness [an alien West Indian] and the “Reverend” Ralph Green Best - were all convicted for sedition.
Robert Jordan was sentenced to ten years in Federal prison, the others to lesser terms.

Dr. J. Wright is a prime exemplar of latter-day Pulpit Rabble-rousers reminiscent of the Archetypes so painstakingly unearthed by the indefatigable Carlson during the Hitler era.
